UIMA Asynchronous Scaleout Documentation

Several committers have been working to augment the core Apache UIMA with the capability to use other middleware to achieve a very flexible and dynamically scalable deployment of UIMA analytic components.

This extension is based around the JMS messaging standard; our initial realization uses Apache ActiveMq as the messaging middleware, and also uses the Spring container framework to manage much of the multi-tasking aspects.

We have some preliminary documentation in a PDF which you may download and view; we are interested in donating this extension to the Apache UIMA project and developing it further in that community.
