Enterprise LDAP and Apache Directory Server

Abstract

LDAP is a key technology for modern enterprise infrastructures. It's role has been critical for network operating systems for years now. The demand for directories has increased and shifted to other areas. Today directories are being used to centralize access to common information shared across applications, for managing identity and for providing various security services. LDAP, and directories in general, solve integration problems which reduce the amount of data replicated across enterprise applications. Apache Directory Server has been specifically designed to mitigate several enterprise problems ideally solved using LDAP.
In this presentation you'll understand the critical role LDAP has within the enterprise and the class of problems it is designed to solve. In addition you'll be introduced to the Apache Directory Server and it's various features which make it ideal for use in the enterprise to solve these problems.
