Annoucement

On behalf of the Apache Bigtop team, I'm pleased to announce the general
availability of the Bigtop 3.2.0 release.
In this latest release:
- Some core services were added into Bigtop Mpack Framework including
Hive, Hbase, Solr, Ambari metrics and more [1].
- We also implemented Bigtop-stack-provisioner: One-Click deploying and
testing Bigtop stack by Ambari with a simple script.
- Newly supported Distros: Fedora-36 and Ubuntu-22.04 . There're still some
gLibc issues for Alluxio and GPDB on arm64 and ppc64le and python dependency
issues on ubuntu-22.04. It's going to be addressed in the 3.2.1 release and
the corresponding Jiras were created to track them [2].
- The Bigtop components have been upgraded: Hadoop 3.3.4, Spark 3.2.3, Flink 1.15.3,
  HBase 2.4.13 and more [3].
- 130+ JIRAs are resolved in this release.

Known issues and Additional Notes

  • There're still some deployment issues for Alluxio and GPDB on Arm64 and PPC64le Fedora 36.
  • The python dependency issues on Ubuntu-22.04, which caused the smoke tests of  Ambari, gpdb, Hive, Ycsb and Zeppelin to fail.

It's going to be addressed in the 3.2.1 release and the corresponding Jiras[2] were created to track them.
