A committer is someone who has worked with the Apache Flex community over time. They share a passion to make Apache Flex better and provide support for it. The title itself is bestowed on those who have been a continuous asset and with it comes more rights and privileges within the Apache Flex project.

Ways to contribute.

Not all contributions are code. While we always love help fixing issues, we can certainly have help in other areas as well. The following are many ways you can contribute.

  • Testing / Fixing bugs. Providing patches.
  • Assisting other users with their requests for help.
  • Helping out with release candidates.
  • Wiki / Documentation / Website work.
  • Translations into other languages.
  • Public relations.
  • Examples of code and components.

How to become a comitter.

The PMC keeps on an eye on the community. It's part of their responsibility to always been on the look out for new committers. The following are just a few overall points that are looked at:

  • Being noticed as an active participant in the Apache Flex community.
  • Have contributed in a productive and positive fashion.
  • Present themselves to be trustworthy.
