Ian Darwin has decades of experience in IT, and works primarily in Java on BSD UNIX (OpenBSD and Mac OS X). Wrote the file(1) command used in free UNIX/Linux (and the javap implementation for Kaffe). He is the author of the O'Reilly Java Cookbook and co-author (with Jason Brittain) of Tomcat: The Definitive Guide. Wrote and taught one of the world's first commercial Java training course (Learning Tree, 1996/97).
