Requerimientos de Sistema
-------------------------
Necesitas una plataforma que soporte Sun JDK 5.0+ (J2SE 1.5.0+) ó mayor.
Mayor parte de pruebas se han hecho en Linux, Mac OS X, y Windows.

Distribuciones adaptadas del servidor
- Distribuciones lightweight pueden ser creadas para que contengan sólo los componentes funcionales
requeridos por tus aplicaciones.
Consola de administración flexible
- La consola de administración ahora es basada-en-componentes, para reflejar las capacidades del servidor.
Este permite que la consola de administración proporcione funciones administrativas flexibles
que reflejarán las capacidades de una distribución adaptada del servidor.
GShell
- GShell es un ambiente de procesos de línea de comandos que puede usarse para la ejecución
de comandos de Geronimo. GShell es un ambiente extendible e incluye soporte para edición,
historia de comandos, y tab completion.
Soporte Cluster
- WADI ya puede usarse para soportar clustering de aplicaciones web para configuraciones Geronimo que
usan al Contenedor Web Tomcat (soporte WADI para Jetty se presentó en lanzamientos previos).
- Las aplicaciones pueden ser activadas para geupos de servidores Geronimo definidos administrativamente.
Plugin para Monitor de Consola
- El plugin para monitor de consola proporciona soporte para tener monitor desde la consola de administración de Geronimo.
El monitor en consola puede obtener estadísticas y datos de rendimiento de múltiples servidores Geronimo, así como
desplegar gráficamente estos datos a usuarios.

Apache Geronimo v2.1 ha pasado el 100% del "SUN's Java Enterprise Edition 5.0

Distribuciones
--------------
Apache Geronimo v2.1 esta disponible en cinco distribuciones, por lo que puedes elegir
la que mejor se adapte a tu ambiente.
Las distribuciones disponibles son:
Distribuciones certificadas:
- Apache Geronimo con Tomcat web container, AXIS2 para Web Services y OpenJPA
para persistencia.
- Apache Geronimo con Jetty web container, CXF para Web Services y OpenJPA
para persistencia.
Distribuciones No-Certificadas:
- Little-G con Tomcat web container, configuración mínima.
- Little-G con Jetty web container, configuración mínima.
- Geronimo framework.
Nota: Distribuciones no-certificadas no contienen un stack JavaEE5 completo y por ello
no pueden ser certificadas. Las distribuciones certificadas pueden ser re-configuradas por
el usuario (como emplear Tomcat web container con CXF para Web Services).
