After the repository is created you need to adjust the default branch name to be master , otherwise changes done later on with the .asf.yaml  will be processed with a large delay. The change can be done  from the https://gitbox.apache.org/boxer/?action=defaultbranch page. The update will be possible once permissions propagate ( see Permission propagation below ).
