The CloudStack UI, often referred to as primate, presents a new 'problem'. That of release integration with the rest of CloudStack.

Overview

The (proposed) solution, uses the fact that the convenience binaries created for end-users by members of the community, are not themselves subject to the same voting and governance as the original code itself.

Therefore, at time of 'CloudStack' release, the binaries for the UI and the rest of CloudStack can be merged/created in combined repositories.

  • cloudstack–ui, cloudstack–management, cloudstack-agent and cloudstack–usage, would all be available in the same repository. The UI the rest of CloudStack's code release is tagged and voted on near simultaneously
  • Interim cloudstack-ui release can occur between 'full' CloudStack releases.
