The Apache Geronimo project is pleased to announce the availability of the Apache Geronimo v3.0-M1 server. This release is the first milestone release of the Geronimo 3.0 server. The 3.0 server is targeted as an implementation of the Java EE 6 Web Profile and also introduces support for the OSGi-based Aries application programming model. The Apache Geronimo project is pleased to announce the availability of the Apache Geronimo v2.1.6 server. This release is primarily a bug fix release to address some security vulnerabilities. Please see the detail information in 2.1.6 release notes or 2.1.x Security Report for details.

Fixed vulnerabilities are:

  • CVE-2010-1632 and CVE-2010-2076: Axis2 and CXF HTTP binding enables DTD based XML attacks.
  • CVE-2010-1622: Spring Framework execution of arbitrary code

The Apache Geronimo project is pleased to announce the available of Apache Geronimo Eclipse Plugin v2.1.5. It supports Geronimo 2.1.5 server and Eclipse 3.5.x(Galileo). Besides, GEP 2.1.5 includes lots of improvements, such as new wizard of database pool, enhancement of security realm editor and more details in error log notification and so on. The Apache Geronimo project is pleased to announce the available of Apache Geronimo v2.1.5 server. This release includes many new features, improvements, and bug fixes. Please see the detail information in 2.1.5 release notes.

A couple highlights are:

  • Provide encryption ability for sensitive information in deployment plan, configuration files, etc.
  • Provide role-based administration capability
  • Login module to enable Kerberos authentication
  • Upgrade Tomcat to 6.0.26, Derby to 10.5.3.0, OpenJPA to 1.2.2, OpenEJB to 3.0.2, etc.

The Apache Geronimo community is proud to announce a set of plugins using Apache OpenJPA 2.0.0-beta which allows Geronimo 2.1.3, 2.1.4, 2.1.5-SNAPSHOT, 2.2 and 2.2.1-SNAPSHOT server users to upgrade from the Java EE 5 required JPA 1.0 support to the new JSR-317 JPA 2.0 support without having to upgrade to a full Java EE 6 application server. For 2.1.x servers, please follow the installation instructions in the Readme, while the 2.2.x server users should use this Readme.

This release provides support for eclipse 3.5.x(Galileo) and latest Geronimo server 2.2. The Apache Geronimo project is pleased to announce the new release of Geronimo 2.2. 2.2 introduces a number of new features and improvements, including: GBean annotations, stateful session bean clustering, centralized management of plugins in a cluster, JASPIC support, application independent principal-role mapping, and new releases of ActiveMQ and Jetty. The Apache Geronimo project is pleased to announce the new v2.1.4 server release. This is primarily a maintenance release. Among the updates and fixes included in the release are several security fixes for vulnerabilities in the administration console. The Apache Geronimo project is pleased to announce the 2.1.2 release of Geronimo Samples. This release is the first release of the samples independent of a Geronimo Server release. The samples are intended to demonstrate unique aspects of the Apache Geronimo Server and address some of the most common questions in a practical way. With this initial release of samples we are supporting multiple Geronimo Server releases. The samples are intended for Geronimo Server 2.1.2 and higher 2.1.x server releases currently available or coming in the future.

For more information on the samples and how to leverage them reference the Geronimo 2.1 Samples Doc. This documentation will continue to evolve and is intended to be used in conjunction with this release of the sample code.
