Apache OpenOffice - Key Files

You can use the OpenOffice committers keys file ooo.asc. Or alternatively the local key file aoo.KEYS.

The downloadable releases are signed by the release manager Juergen Schmidt (Windows, MacOS) or by the PMC member (co release manager) Ariel Constenla-Haile (Linux).

Verifying the downloaded files

The PGP signatures can be verified using PGP or GPG. You shoiudl first downlaod the key file ooo.asc and the ASC(PGP) signature file for the particular src release file. You can verify the signatures using

% pgpk -a ooo.asc
% pgpv aoo-3.4.0-incubating-src.tar.gz.asc
or
% pgp -ka ooo.asc
% pgp aoo-3.4.0-incubating-src.tar.gz.asc
or
% gpg --import ooo.asc
% gpg --verify aoo-3.4.0-incubating-src.tar.gz.asc

Alternatively, you can verify the checksums on the files. Unix programs called md5/sha1/sha512 or md5sum/sha1sum/sha512sum are included in many unix distributions. *sum is also available as part of GNU Textutils.

Apache OpenOffice - Additional Release Information

Apache OpenOffice is a very huge project and 3.4 will be the first release under the umbrella of Apache. We have assembled some additional information that document what we have done and why we have done it. This collection is intended to give people the necessary background and help to find related information easy and fast. If you are still have questions or if you are undecided how to vote we would appreciate if you contact the Apache OpenOffice PMC on ooo-private incubator mailing list to ask your question. Maybe we can provide the necessary information in time and can answer your question.
