Sentry    

Sentry is a highly modular system for providing fine grained role  based authorization to both data and metadata stored on an Apache Hadoop  cluster. Sentry has been incubating since 2013-08-08.    

Three most important issues to address in the move towards graduation:    

1. Initiate graduation discussion with community and address any concerns raised
2. Update website, wiki, incubator status page
3. Add a section "Responsibilities of PPMC" to wiki.

How has the community developed since the last report?

Community continued to contribute to the project in terms of code, stability and releases. We have had few contributions from new contributors. Prasad presented Sentry at ApacheCon Austin.

How has the project developed since the last report?

 Community has worked actively on multiple features and also worked on stability. One of the big features developed during this time is Integration with Sqoop, allowing sqoop users to use sentry for authorization support. We have also removed non apache dependencies from the project during this period. Community is getting ready for the projects graduation from incubation. Voting for 1.5.0 release is underway.

When were the last committers or PMC members elected?

Colin Ma, Dapeng Sun, Guoquan Shen and Xiaomeng Huang were added as committers on 12/24/2014. No new PPMC members have been added since the project has entered the incubator.
