Abstract

The recent RFC 4533 (june 2006) has been implemented by OpenLDAP. This is the first complete Multi-Master replication protocol for LDAP described in a set of documents, a major step toward a better implementation of replication.

Apache Directory Server replication will implement this same RFC, allowing it to be part of a global replication system, including not only Apache Directory Servers, but also OpenLDAP servers.

One of the major interest of this approach is that it makes it easy to extend OpenLDAP in area where it's not very comfortable with, mainly store procedures triggered by entries modifications, and to offer the users the reliability and performance of OpenLDAP.

We will present the current implementation, and expose the future addition (including delta-syncrepl)
