Goals - this was the forming meeting

Intent - monthly event at 8a PT

  • Time zones - consider alternating between morning PT and afternoon PT to be inclusive of timezones. We’ll most likely hold an afternoon meeting to gauge APAC attendance and interest. 
  • Pacing - monthly per timezone, hour is ok, but if we can cover in 30 we will 
  • Should we open up pacing and timezone questions to broader community? Attendance on the call was not reflective of interest we received via email and slack
  • We will record meetings & post on Planet Cassandra YouTube and make minutes available on comms page - we want complete transparency. We can also post to marketing ML. We can also post transcripts.

Go Forward: 

  • Set and share agendas ahead of time and recruit folks who should be there, 
  • Where should we share agenda? Confluence? Google Doc? 
    • Community preference: Confluence, we can link to Google doc in Confluence.


  • Topic for next meeting: What do you think is missing from community marketing/efforts right now?
    • ACTION: Group to think about it and share
    • Initial thoughts: 
      • Low engagement in meetups - in person and virtual but sense that meetup is mainly about meeting in person from time to time with supporting remote content
      • Always the same 25 people at meetup groups - how do we expand the bubble? We need a meetup strategy. We need to get Cassandra content into adjacent groups - i.e. local MLOps group has 14k people in it.
