We expect a committer to be committed to the success of the project, proven by a record of work displaying a constructive intent and a helpful attitude.
The record of work must include several of the following:
- Code contributions that adhere to our coding guidelines, are coordinated with the roadmap, and take into consideration feedback from developers and users.
- Documentation contributions to either the web site, wiki, or codebase that are clear, organized, succinct, and useful.
- Mailing list activity that is friendly and fosters constructive, fact-based discussion.
- Quality assurance: writing tests, evaluating existing tests, building test environments, and reporting test results in organized and consistent documents.
- Bug reports that are concise and reproducible.
- Participation in project management that fosters collaboration and helps us move forward swiftly along the roadmap.
- Engagement with communities that are involved in the project.
- Evangelism into communities and industries that should be involved in the project.
