                 ApacheDS X.5.Y: A Feature Release

The Apache Directory team is pleased to announce the release of ApacheDS X.5.Y,
a pure-Java LDAP server and more. Our primary vision is to build an enterprise
directory server platform and its components where other Internet services
snap in to store their data within the directory so they may be managed using
LDAP. Those services include LDAP itself, DNS, DHCP, Change Password and Kerberos.

This release introduces many new features into the server:

WARNING: Although this release is stable in general having passed several
quality assurance tests and performance metrics the new features introduced
should be considered experimental. Regardless all previous features deemed
stable in previous major releases can still be considered stable.
