Describes how to get access so that you can modify the Trafodion wiki pages, which are based on the Confluence wiki software.

Getting Access

We use a "white-listing" permissions scheme for editing the Wiki. We do this to prevent anonymous spammers from spamming the site.

If you’d like to contribute to the wiki, just obtain a Confluence user ID on the Apache wiki, then send an e-mail to thedev@trafodion.apache.org mailing list requesting access (and providing your Confluence user ID name).

A friendly administrator will then grant you editing privileges.

Wiki, Web Page, or Document?

The benefit of a wiki is that it can be changed without being subjected to review activities. However, wiki pages are not part of the official source tree. Therefore, release-dependent documentation target to users should be part of the Documentation Tree.

The Trafodion web page provides the initial impression for the project while the wiki requires more in-depth searching.

Use the web page when you have information that will help strengthen to Trafodion first impression and the wiki for information targeted to contributors that are already working on Trafodion.
